Immigration

While Congress continues to debate immigration reform, families are being ripped apart through increased deportation and raids, religious minorities and refugees are being denied entry into our country, and undocumented young people who came to this country with their parents as infants and children are afraid that they will be returned to countries and lives they’ve never known. This is not the America I believe in.

As your Congressman, I will:

  • Support and sponsor legislation that creates a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who have worked to build a better life for themselves and their families in this country.
  • Stand up to this Administration and its efforts to build a border wall. Our ultimate goal should be to have a relationship with Mexico similar to the one America has with Canada, not to build a wall between us.
  • Embrace Dreamers and DACA recipients who came to this country as children, were raised as citizens and are contributing to making our society better. They deserve full citizenship and I will fight for them to get it.
  • Commit to fighting the bans on Muslims, refugees, and immigrants from countries with high populations of Muslims. Our immigration policy should mirror our values and our country’s great history of being a nation of immigrants.
